FLANGED-END AIR HEATER

Problem with Traditional Heating Method

 

  • Large hot air generators placed outside the chamber
  • Insulated ducting installed inside the chamber for hot air distribution
  • Capital cost increased due to insulated ducting
  • Heat losses occur in the upper portion of the chamber with no purpose served

Proposed Heating System

 

  • Cold air blown through the piping network inside the chamber
  • Unique flanged end air heaters attached to pipe outlets near floor level
  • Each flanged end heater equipped with a switch for isolation if required
  • Heat generated at floor level in a distributed manner
  • Resulting in heat accessibility primarily to the job area

Advantages of the Modification

 

  • More than 40% power saving reported by end users
  • Eliminates the need for large hot air generators outside the chamber
  • Reduces capital costs by eliminating insulated ducting
  • Minimizes heat losses along the way
  • Heat is concentrated where needed, improving overall efficiency
